MOTHER LOVE BONE: “Shine EP” limited sky blue 12″ EP
Shine, the debut EP from Seattle’s Mother Love Bone. Fronted by legendary vocalist Andrew Wood, this is one of the key releases that jump started the grunge rock evolution. With fully remastered audio, this is a must have gem from one of the most underrated rock groups of the era.
The band formed by Jeff Ament, Bruce Fairweather and Stone Gossard following Green River splitting up. They received a lot of attention in Seattle and the beginnings of international interest with the ‘Shine’ EP. However, as they prepared to release their major label, debut album, the ‘Apple’, lead singer Andrew Wood overdosed on heroin and died, leaving the band in tatters.
Stone and Jeff joined with Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron and Chris Cornell (Andy’s roommate) to record the ‘Temple Of The Dog’ tribute album, which also featured a young Eddie Vedder on some of the tracks. This led, in turn, to the formation of Pearl Jam.
